NATO will conduct a large-scale military exercise in the Arctic Circle – Cold Responce 2022. It will involve 35,000 troops from 28 countries.
Military maneuvers will take place in March 2022. Most of the events will take place in the north of Norway, and the largest part of the allied forces in these exercises will be the United States and Great Britain, writes High North News. In particular, the British aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales and the American USS Harry S. Truman will take part in them.
The Cold Response is a series of two-year military exercises led by Norway with NATO Allies and Partner countries. This year’s training will also be twice as large as in 2020. At that time, 16,000 soldiers from ten countries were involved.
It is currently known that in addition to the United States and the United Kingdom, the maneuvers will involve Canada, Denmark, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia. Partner countries Finland and Sweden will also send their forces.
