The American newspaper “Wall Street Journal wsj” said that the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has contacted the Sultanate of Oman about the possibility of establishing Hamas leaders in the Sultanate and transferring them from Qatar, and has also contacted other countries for convenience.

According to the newspaper’s report, the political leadership of Hamas is looking forward to the transition from the current rules in Qatar, where America is pressuring the Gulf state to achieve results in the ceasefire negotiations, which seem likely to fail.

Hamas communicates with the Sultanate of Oman

If Hamas leaves Doha, this step can falsify the sensitive negotiations for the release of dozens of Israeli prisoners detained in Gaza, and it is likely to make it difficult for Israel and America to send messages to the Washington classification group as a terrorist organization, the report says.

The leader of Hamas lives in Doha, the capital of Qatar, since 2012 under the support of the United States. The Arab officials said that the Palestinian resistance movement contacted at least two governments in the region in recent days to ask them if they were open to the idea of transferring their political leaders to their capitals.

“The Wall Street Journal” quoted an Arab official as saying that the Sultanate of Oman is one of the countries that have been contacted. And the Omani officials did not respond to the request for comment.

Meanwhile, Arab officials said that Hamas believes that the slow-moving family negotiations may last for several months, which endangers the movement’s close relations with Qatar and its presence in Doha.

An Arab mediator familiar with the situation told the newspaper: “The actual talks have stopped once again, with no signs or possibilities of resuming any time soon, and the lack of trust between Hamas and the negotiators is increasing.”

According to the American newspaper, mediators from Qatar and Egypt put pressure on the representative of Hamas in recent weeks, to force the movement to relax the conditions, and sometimes, the leadership of Hamas received threats of rejection if they did not agree on the prisoner release deal.

The last Arab mediator said: “The possibility of a complete revolution in the conversation is very real.”

For a long time, Qatar has been working to end the Gaza wars, strengthen aid to the Palestinians, build trust with Hamas, and learn about negotiation tactics.

In the past six months, the falsification of these relations has affected one of the most thorny diplomatic crises in the world, which indicates the prices as an ally of the United States while raising its status as an indispensable partner in the Middle East.

But Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, recently said that the Gulf state is reassessing the distance between Israel and Hamas. He pointed out to us that it is unfair criticism of Qatar’s efforts to end the war in Gaza.

Netanyahu has previously stated that pressure should be exerted on Qatar, which played an important role in the mediation of the November truce and the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel.

The Qatari Foreign Minister said in a press conference a few days ago: “There are limits to this role and the limits of our ability to contribute to these negotiations in a constructive manner.” He added: “The State of Qatar will make the right decision at the right time.”

Never before has Qatar’s long-standing relationship with Hamas, committed to violent resistance to the Israeli occupation, been subjected to such scrutiny. The attacks that took place on October 7th sparked suggestions in Israel that Qatar may have been partially responsible because of its ties to Hamas.

Some American legislators and Israeli politicians have been demanding since months from the White House to force Qatar to cut ties with Hamas, and face punitive measures because they claim that it amounts to supporting terrorism.

Qatari and American officials deny the allegations of terrorism and say that Qatar cooperated with Israel regarding its previous interactions with Hamas, and the Israeli National Security Advisor, Tasahi Henghbi, praised the recent bad diplomacy in the wake of the October 7th attacks.

The leader of Hamas in Doha called for an American

The officials say that the political leaders of Hamas are in Doha at the request of Washington, otherwise they will end up in a place where it is difficult for Western officials to communicate with them, such as Iran or Syria.

Qatar’s ability to deal with Hamas is extremely important, as American and European officials are prohibited from contacting me directly due to their governments’ designation of the group as a terrorist organization, the report says.

According to the “Wall Street Journal”, Qatar’s ability to maintain relations with Hamas – as it does with other groups such as the Taliban and countries including Iran and Venezuela – reflects a difficult balancing act in a world where the United States is increasingly demanding its friends by adopting unequivocal positions with or against the group of my enemies.

Qatar hosts one of the largest foreign military bases in America. And the increasing pressure exerted by American legislators on Qatar to extract more concessions from Hamas or cut ties with it.

And Senator Ted (Republic of North Carolina) earlier this month, it is legitimate to consider terminating the status of Qatar as my main ally outside of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization without expelling all members of Hamas or agreeing to hand them over to the United States. This alliance status opens the door to more military exercises, joint operations and possible arms sales, which is the status of President Biden’s grants to Doha in 2022 after Qatar’s assistance in facilitating the evacuation of the United States from Afghanistan.

The Qatari embassy in Washington described the law as disappointing and useless, and said in a statement: “I dare not undermine the partnerships that America and its allies have carefully built over decades, especially at this exact moment that is affecting our region.”

Al-Sahifah quoted an American official as saying that the Qataris were clear that when the United States wants to hold talks on ending the presence of Hamas in Doha, Qatar will be willing to “do what is best” for bilateral relations. Publication date:
