Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, received, on Monday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, on the sidelines of the special meeting of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh.

During the reception, the two sides discussed the state of military escalation in Gaza and its surroundings and the worsening conditions that threaten the lives of civilians and the security and stability of the region. Prince Mohammed bin Salman stressed that Saudi Arabia is making all efforts in communicating with all international and regional parties to stop the ongoing escalation and prevent its expansion in the region, and its categorical rejection of calls for the forced displacement of the people. Palestinian.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman renewed Saudi Arabia’s permanent support for the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights to a dignified life, realize their hopes and aspirations, and achieve a just and lasting peace.

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) reported that during the meeting, Abbas expressed his great appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its firm positions and “its support for the rights of our Palestinian people, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” and its efforts to support the Palestinian cause in all international forums, stressing “the categorical rejection of displacing Any Palestinian citizen, whether from the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The Palestinian President touched on the dangerous Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, warning of “the danger of Israel invading Rafah, which will lead to a catastrophe against the Palestinian people.” He stressed the importance of continuing to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which provides aid and relief to about 6.4 million refugees, including two million in Gaza, according to WAFA.

On the other hand, Prince Mohammed bin Salman received Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Malaysian Anwar Ibrahim, and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and British Secretary of State David Cameron, separately.

During the receptions, they reviewed aspects of bilateral relations, areas of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and each of the four countries, promising opportunities for its development, and discussed developments in regional and international situations of common interest.
