Talking to the media, Rochester Police Chief David Smith stated that the incident occurred at around 2.45 am, when an argument led to at least one person firing into a crowd. The victims included two girls aged around 20 and 25 years. Apart from the two girls, a 17-year-old teen, and three persons aged 18, 21, and 33 years sustained injuries.

The man faces charges of second-degree assault, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, and second-degree harassment.

The police official said, “When you have people that are actively fighting with officers who are trying to render medical attention, obviously that makes it that much harder.”
