Rodríguez Parrilla: Biden does not have his own policy towards Cuba

Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla , Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, pointed out on Twitter that the President of the United States, Joseph Biden, does not have his own policy towards the largest of the Antilles.

The Chancellor indicated in his message that the US president applies the maximum pressure policy of the previous president, Donald Trump.

These methods, Rodríguez Parrilla added, not only cause harm and suffering to the Cuban people, impede economic development and encourage irregular emigration, but also damage the national interest of the United States.

“Pdte Biden does not have a policy towards #Cuba, not his own. Trump’s maximum pressure policy is applied, which not only causes harm and suffering to the Cuban people, prevents the development of our economy and encourages irregular emigration to the US, but also damages the national interest of the US,” Rodríguez Parrilla wrote.

Recently, the United States Department of State announced measures in relation to Cuba, such as the reestablishment of commercial flights to other cities in addition to Havana, the reactivation of the family reunification program, suspended for years, and the elimination of the limit of one thousand dollars quarterly in remittances.

By the way, Rodríguez Parrilla stressed that these provisions do not reverse Trump’s policy, and the main actions defined to suffocate the Cuban economy remain in force.

These measures, he added, are also not intended to relax the economic, commercial and financial blockade that Washington has imposed on Havana for more than six decades.
