Hezbollah bombed areas in northern Israel with more than 100 missiles, in the party’s largest attack on Israel since the beginning of the war between it and the Islamic Resistance Movements “Hamas” and Islamic Jihad in Gaza nearly 9 months ago.
This escalation came a day after the Israeli army assassinated a prominent Hezbollah leader in an air strike in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army said that most of the missiles were intercepted, while some of them fell in the northern regions of the country, causing fires there.
Hezbollah said that its missiles targeted several Israeli sites, including the Northern Corps headquarters at the Ein Zeitim base and a military industries factory in Sasa’a.
He said in an official statement that his attack was a response to the assassination of 4 of his members, including a military commander, on Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday night, the Israeli army targeted a house in the Joya area, in the Tire district, which led to the killing of party members.
According to Hezbollah’s statement, the leader who was killed was Talib Sami Abdullah, known as Abu Talib, and he was 55 years old.
Israeli media reports said that Abu Talib is the highest-ranking Hezbollah military commander killed by Israel since the beginning of the current war.
