Russia.- The more than 100 Cuban participants at the Youth Festival
today denounced the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed
by the United States against Cuba.”We
have a request from our President and that is to raise our voices on
behalf of the Cuban people and young people to demand the lifting of the
blockade,” the first secretary of the Young Communist Union, Aylín Álvarez, told Prensa Latina .In
addition, he considered it necessary to search for initiatives to
continue the debate on the actions to be carried out between Russia and
Latin America.For
his part, delegate Yoerky Sánchez affirmed that for Cubans the lifting
of the blockade is essential, “we show Cuba’s identity, and we retify
the historical ties of friendship with Russia,” he added.The World Youth Festival is held at the Sirius center in Sochi from March 1 to 7, 2024.From March 10 to 17, a regional program will be held in which those present will visit 30 Russian cities.
According
to organizers, 20 thousand outstanding young people in the sectors of
Education, Science, International Cooperation, Culture, Volunteering and
Charity, Sports, Business, and Media will participate in the event,
