Shepherds for Peace Caravan will arrive in Cuba

Havana, Nov. 7.- The Shepherds for Peace Caravan will once again arrive in Cuba as a show of solidarity and a claim against the United States blockade, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples reported today.

According to the announcement on social networks, another edition of the caravans will soon arrive in the largest of the Antilles to reiterate its rejection of the hostile policy of the northern nation.

The day before, the director of the initiative, Gail Walker, insisted on the need to tell the truth about Cuba and maintain support for the demand against the siege of Washington at the national event of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO, acronym for in English).

IFCO Board President Mychal Joshson and Walker recalled the history of the caravan and underscored the commitment to the largest of the Antilles, according to a Facebook post from the Foundation.

Pastors for Peace was born in 1988 as an IFCO project in response to the aggressiveness in Latin America of the administration of former US President Ronald Reagan.

Since 1992, the organized Caravans had as their objective the collection and transfer of humanitarian aid for the Caribbean nation. (Text and photo: PL)
