Cardinal Leopoldo José Brenes said yesterday that the late president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez may even tremble in his grave, because in their country they turned the Lord’s Prayer in a chavista version, which the prelate called “fanaticism” .

“Hopefully Chavez is saying in heaven, this is not so,” said the high jararca of the Catholic Church in Nicaragua.

Brenes said it was “disrespectful” to such a “sacred prayer” as the Our Father, “something that came out of the mouth of the Lord.”

This new form of worship Chavez announced on Monday the first of September, at the close of the first workshop for the “socialist system design training” of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).. The ruler of Nicaragua, the Sandinista Front (FSLN) party is a collaborator of this workshop, as revealed days before the current president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro.

Prayer is “untouchable”

Forum participants call the “prayer of the delegate” and is a sort of parody of the Lord’s Prayer every Catholic knows: “Give us your light to guide us every day, do not let us fall into the temptation of capitalism, but deliver us from the evil of the oligarchy, “Chavez said of the release.

The guerrilla commander Dora Maria Tellez said the use of Christian elements in politics, is a “manipulation” of the faith of the Christian people.

In the case of “our father Chavez” Chavez considers Téllez do this because of the “weakening” Maduro government in Venezuela, trying to keep to Chavez through the “deification” of the image of Chavez.

Al exdiputado Jarquín Anaya was not surprised by this news.  Jarquín mentioned the efforts of the Chavista parties Sandinista Nicaragua and Venezuela, for promoting the figure of its political leaders as if they were the “messiah”, worshiping these people religiously.

But the former deputy also pointed out that this phenomenon is also evident Chavez in Managua, where a path bright yellow trees, which are the way to megaimagen Chavez in Bolivar Avenue roundabout.
