7.5 million dollars a day cost of Pentagon operations against “Islamic state” in Iraq
Ministry of Defence announced that American operations against the organization “Islamic state” in Iraq will cost about 7.5 million dollars a day on average since mid-June. And Admiral John Kirby said the press secretary for the Pentagon that the costs “are based on the processes that took place until the twenty-sixth of this month,” which probably means that the ministry has spent about $ 500 million since it began operations.
Analysts saw that any major escalation in the American operations against “Islamic state” and could force the Department of Defense to request more funds from Congress while lawmakers put the draft next year’s budget.
The official said that the military operations in Iraq so far included 636 shipment by air drop of supplies of food, water and medicine, and do about 102 air strike and at least about 60 exploratory sorties per day.
It is worth mentioning that the Pentagon spends nearly $ 1.3 billion in the week to Afghanistan to Iraq, the bill is relatively small.
