Russia has evidence that the Syrian rebels have used sarin gas on March 19 near Aleppo. That’s what reporters Vitaly Churkin, Russia’s ambassador to the UN.
Russian experts have collected samples from the site of the attack and the evidence was forwarded to the Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-moon, said Vitaly Churkin.
For its part the regime of President Bashar al-Assad on Saturday accused rebels in turn have used chemical weapons in the fighting in Damascus. “An army unit encircles an area of Jobar where terrorists have used chemical weapons,” said state television, citing several cases of “asphyxia” among the soldiers entered Jobar, a district device Damascus.
A few months ago already, Carla Del Ponte, the UN commissioner on crimes in Syria, already accused the opposition of having used chemical weapons on several occasions (see video).
