Kerry called on the Egyptian army to organize elections

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday called on the Egyptian army to organize elections and condemned the bloodshed in dispersing supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsija.

“The responsibility is on the transitional government and the military to prevent violence and propose constructive options, including the amendment of the constitution and organize general and presidential elections,” said the head of American diplomacy during a regular press conference the State Department.

He found that the repression on Wednesday, “a severe blow to the aspirations of Egyptians get peace and genuine democracy.”
