Moscow has stated that the Russians, who were arrested in the U.S. in connection with the latest so-called “spy scandal” appear to be under intense psychological pressure.
“Unfortunately, the court did not listen to the arguments of the defense and under false pretenses denied our citizens release on bail,” said the Deputy Director of the Information Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Russia Maria Zakharova.
She stressed that Russian diplomats together with lawyers will seek a review of the unjust decision and stop psychological and moral pressure being exerted on the Russians to sign “voluntary” confessions.
Zakharova said that all four of the arrested discussed many issues during a consular meeting including issues related to the conditions in the prison.
She stressed that the Russian Foreign Ministry is closely monitoring the situation around those arrested on October 3rd in Houston, Texas.
They are accused of illegally exporting microelectronics to Russia.
