Russia and India are carrying out trials of a Brahmos supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines.
According to Brahmos designers, the tests will first be conducted with a mock-up model without airdropping it.
The first proper launches are scheduled for 2013.
The Russian-Indian joint venture Brahmos produces supersonic cruise missiles that can carry warheads weighing up to 300 kg and have an operational range of 290 km.
