Mexico City. – The governments of Mexico and the United States conducted an exchange of prisoners, four estadundienses and 23 Mexicans, working as part of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The four defendants were handed estadundienses the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Department of Justice, while the domestic Mexican Attorney General’s Office with the support of the Ministry of Public Security and Mexico’s Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Inmates of U.S. nationality were received at the International Airport of El Paso, Texas, in order to continue compurgando in prisons in the country, the custodial sentences imposed them Mexican judicial authorities. The Americans delivered were tried in Mexico for committing crimes against health, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated homicide.
Meanwhile, personnel of the Bureau of Prisons of the United States of America, gave elements of Federal Support Forces of the Federal Public Security Secretariat, at the International Airport of El Paso, Texas, 23 Mexican inmates who were transferred to the country, where they will continue serving custodial sentences they impose judicial authorities of that country.
The governments of Mexico and the United States of America reiterates efforts to expand cooperation in the enforcement of criminal sentences and demonstrate the close cooperation between the two governments.
