21/09 Foreign Fearing unrest Friday following the trailer of a controversial film about the Prophet Muhammad, the U.S. has bought airtime on Pakistani television.
At seven stations running a commercial of the U.S. government in which the video itself dissociates, deputy spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the State Department.
In the short and in Urdu subtitled spot says President Barack Obama that his country is a body established by all faiths accept. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stressed its part, the U.S. nothing to do with the video that has caused anger among Muslims.
According to Nuland, the spotlights $ 70,000 (54,000 euros) cost. The seven stations can reach ninety million Pakistanis.
