Damascus. – Russia, an ally of the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad sent in the last 24 hours about 80 tons of food aid to Syria, who lives a civil war, said Friday the official agency Sana.
A Russian plane with 38 tons of food on board landed on Friday morning at Damascus International Airport, said Sana.
On Thursday, a Russian plane with “the same amount of food”-sugar, meat, milk for children and-cans, also landed in the Syrian capital, according to the agency.
The distribution of this aid will be “coordinated” between the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, the Syrian Red Crescent and NGOs Syrian said.
Russia refuses all international interference to resolve the conflict in Syria and has blocked and three resolutions in the Security Council of the UN to condemn the Assad regime.
The country accuses Western governments of meddling in Syrian affairs and fueling the conflict by encouraging rebellion or even handing weapons.
