MEXICO CITY, (AFP) – A group of 513 immigrants from Latin America and Asia were found Tuesday by police in “inhumane conditions” in two trucks in the state of Chiapas (southeast), the biggest catch of illegal immigrants in a same operation in Mexico, the local prosecutor.
The 513 immigrants from Latin America and Asia, “traveled in inhumane conditions inside two trailers (trucks) bound for the United States,” the attorney (prosecutor) in a statement
The trucks were stopped by police early Tuesday in one of the entrances of Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital of Chiapas state bordering Guatemala.
Inside were found hidden immigrants from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Nepal, India and Japan, said the prosecutor. “This is the biggest bailout of immigrants traveling in subhuman conditions in Mexico, told AFP a spokesman for the attorney told AFP.
