Sedena and Navy on alert for possible acts of sabotage or terrorism

Mexico City .- In order to detect acts of sabotage or terrorism in the country’s strategic installations during this new year, the Secretaries of the Navy and National Defence on alert.
Both agencies conducted surveillance operations by air, land and sea personnel trained in urban combat and intelligence operations, which protects the plants 24 hours Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the Commission Federal de Electricidad (CFE) and the National Water (Conagua), among others.
Consulted military sources claim that it keeps a close eye on points as the Campeche Sound (where lies most of the country’s oil platforms), the Laguna Verde thermoelectric and hydroelectric Chicoasén, dams and rivers, with the possibility of that guerrilla groups or organized crime intend to carry out terrorist acts.
The military also maintains the alert in the states of Michoacán, Nuevo León, Coahuila and Tamaulipas, where there is the possibility that organized crime carried out attacks on police forces.
